Practices

John is a thirty-year veteran trial attorney, having litigated everything from rudder and tail failure in catastrophic airplane crashes to contract claims against nuclear power plants. As a mechanical engineer, he brings a specialized knowledge to product liability, construction, and commercial litigation.

John represented Lloyd’s insurers in one of the largest gas refinery explosions in Illinois in recent memory, defending against wrongful death, property damage, and business interruption claims by a plethora of injured parties. In these cases, John reduced the critical issues involving the alleged failure of a high-tech control valve to an understandable, common sense level, which positioned the claims for favorable settlement at mediation.

John represented construction entities and insurers in catastrophic flood and latent mold claims by Chicago downtown businesses, as well as conversion and condemnation proceedings involving the Army Corps of Engineers in the Great Lakes region.

A fixture in the Chicago legal community, John continues to build on his legacy as a proponent of fair representation for Midwest-based industrial manufacturers and commercial vendors.
