Jack represents multi-national and U.S. insurers in complex property & casualty, excess, and reinsurance claims. He also audits excess and reinsurance claims for Lloyd’s and London insurers. As national claims counsel, he coordinates claims for large account insureds.

Jack’s insurance practice cuts across many industries, including oil and gas, mining, shipping and transportation, manufacturing, real estate, and construction. He advises clients on catastrophic losses, pollution liability, and bad faith.

Jack has successfully resolved disputes involving ISO, Bermuda form, London, and manuscript wordings, including standard and nonstandard pollution exclusions, claims made and occurrence reported coverage, integrated and batch occurrence, cargo, hull and P&I cover, completed operations and business risk exclusions, allocation of costs, application misrepresentation, policy nullification and rescission, and the priority of coverage among insurers.

In addition to his insurance practice, Jack represents shopping malls, retailers, newspapers, media companies, banks, and financial intermediaries in contract dispute, class action, and compliance matters.

Jack is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell. He was selected for inclusion in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Illinois Super Lawyers®. Jack is past vice-chair of the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section, Economics of Tort and Insurance Law Practice Committee.
